Custom Fabrication

Built-to-spec metal work — railings, tanks, trailers, machine guards, anything cut and joined to a drawing.

What you're getting

Custom fabrication is quote-based by nature. You bring a sketch, a CAD file, or a description; the shop returns a price and a timeline. Most fab shops handle steel and aluminum; stainless and exotic alloys often require a specialist. For larger pieces a shop with a fab table beats a mobile rig, but mobile rigs do handle smaller commission work.

About custom fabrication

  • How do I price a custom fab job?

Send the shop a drawing or photos of the reference, the material you want, and the dimensions. They'll quote labor plus material plus any setup. Expect a $200–$500 minimum for small jobs.

  • Do I need to provide drawings?

A clear photo or hand sketch with dimensions is usually enough for simple work. CAD files speed things up for complex pieces. Some shops will charge an extra hour or two for design-from-scratch work.
