Mark E. Hodge and Pat A. Hodge own the shop on Baucum Pike, and both are AWS Certified Welding Inspectors. They will fabricate the steel, and they will also write the WPS, run the PQR, qualify welders, and inspect in the field. Hodge has been a Little Rock-area fabricator since 1983. The floor is set up for heavy plate and beam. High-definition plasma to 1-1/2 inch plate, oxy-fuel to 12 inches, CNC sawing to 20-inch pipe and 30-inch beams, and a 400-ton press brake (14 feet of 1/2-inch) that they call one of the largest in Arkansas. Regular processes: SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW, plus aluminum, cast, and exotic metals.

AOP started in 1970 as Arkansas Oregon Pneumatics, building pneumatic conveying systems for plywood plants going up across Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and Georgia. Harold Owery and Jim Livesey named that company. The Crossett shop still traces to that mill work. Today it is AOP Metal Fabricators, LLC: structural steel, plate, tanks, pneumatic duct, handrail, and coatings. More than 50,000 square feet of fab space sits on 12 acres at 162 Wood Street. The floor has a Lincoln Electric Python X robotic beam line, a 14-by-24 CNC plasma table that cuts from 24 gauge to 4-inch plate, a 500-ton CNC press brake, and five overhead cranes. The shop is AISC certified.
