Structural Welding

Load-rated weldments — beams, columns, ramps, brackets — for permitted construction and inspected work.

What you're getting

Structural welding is where certifications matter. Look for AWS D1.1 (steel) or D1.2 (aluminum) credentials. Required for permitted construction, bridge repair, and any work that's getting inspected. Often there's an engineer's drawing involved and a third-party inspection at the end.

About structural welding

  • What does AWS D1.1 mean?

It's the American Welding Society's structural steel welding code. A D1.1 certified welder has passed a procedure qualification record on the steel grade and joint type your project uses. Most municipal building departments require it for permitted work.

  • Do I need an inspection?

If the job is permitted, yes. Inspections are usually visual plus dye-penetrant or ultrasonic testing on critical welds. The shop or an independent inspector signs off.
